Business coaching is a fundamentally different approach to business consultancy as it is based more on transfer of knowledge.
Where a consultant will usually identify a particular problem or challenge, then offer a solution, and, in some cases, implement the solution, a coach works directly with the owner or the team to solve the problem together.
This approach is a far more cost effective and long term solution as the majority of the work is done by the client rather than the coach by implementing strategies learned through coaching sessions. Much in the same way as a sports coach works with an athelete. Whilst the coach may not be able to perform on the field as well as the athelete, their skill, knowledge and understanding, combined with the ability to observe the "whole game" from the touchline, enables them to accurately observe, analyse and critique in such a way as to offer solutions to improve the individual or team performance.
Another way of looking at it is, where a consultant with carry you across a rapidly flowing river then leave you at the other side, a coach will teach you how to swim so not only can you use the skill again, but you can actually get back under your own steam.
I tailor my approach to your individual needs and goals. Sessions are based on a continual process of assessment, goal setting, action steps and back to assessment. You can choose to work individually or as part of a group.
Individual coaching takes place in the comfort of your home, your office or any other quiet place you would prefer. Additionally, depending on your primary learning style, you may prefer to have your session over the phone or using Zoom.
Individual sessions are ideal when held twice a month. I’ve found that these frequencies allow us to properly track and support the realisation of your plans.
